Red Maples, Red Oaks, and the odd White Pine are scattered among the many American Beech trees in this forest community.
The trees of Beech Knoll are fairly young, so the “teenage trees” must compete for light and resources if they are to survive to adulthood.
The young growth makes this a popular spot for White-tailed Deer.
Even though you may not be lucky enough to see deer as you explore Beech Knoll, you will surely find signs of their feeding activity.
