"I like Keji better than Disney World." - Leah, age 8

Straight from the mouths of Keji Naturalists

Q: What's the best part about being in the Naturalist Club?

Nicole: "That you get to meet new people and do stuff with them, and like tonight there’s a show and programs are fun."

Alexandra: “I like going to all the activities."..."“It’s a lot of fun to do. It’s a lot of work, but it’s still a lot of fun.”

Emma: "(You) get to learn a lot of things like about the endangered species and how to help the forest."

Joshua: “Feeling proud about being a Keji Naturalist.”

Q: What does it mean to be a Keji Naturalist?

Alexandra: “Taking care of the environment, and today I built turtle nets to protect the turtle eggs.”

Joshua: “It means that you’ve been good to the outdoors and done lots of stuff like canoeing, hikes, and where you can protect the environment.”

Q: What was the most important thing you learned?

Emma: "All about the animals, because I didn’t know anything about the endangered animals before I started coming on the programs.”...“I learned a lot more about how to help out the forest and now I help it out more than I used to."

Taylor: “I know to stay on the trails and not to go on the woods because you might step on a baby tree or something.”

Q: What are you going to do differently when you go back home to keep being a good Naturalist?

Leah: “Don’t harm the woods… don’t touch toads and salamanders… maybe do a project for school.”

Joshua: “I’m going to do more writing about everything and projects about the endangered species and what Keji’s like, and tell people how to save them – what to do and what not to do."

Q: What's the best thing about Keji?

Ben: “You get to see wildlife that you can’t see in the city.”

Allie: "Getting to go to all the events and learning a lot of things."

Q: What are you going to tell your friends?

Ben: “Come here because it’s really fun and you can go to the evening programs and learn stuff and swim.”

Taylor: “You could try and learn stuff by yourself. You don’t have to be a Keji Naturalist to know stuff about nature.”

Q: Any final comments?

Allie: “I love the Naturalist Club books and Keji and I will come back every year and I’ll bring my kids here when I’m old enough and I will never miss a year.”

Emma: "The Naturalist Club rocks."
