"I like Keji better than Disney World." - Leah, age 8

Sneak Preview for 2009's Naturalist Club!

The theme for this years' Naturalist Club was The Tent Dwellers. The theme determines the four levels as well as the questions and activities presented in the club booklet.

The theme for 2009 is... (drumroll please)... BIRDS!

The Naturalist Club and Visitor Guide will teach us all about our wonderful feathered friends.

During the Tent Dwellers Canoe Festival Weekend (August 15th-17th) the kids' tent held a bird-themed poetry contest. Featured here is the winner, Kayla, who wrote a beautiful poem about birds in flight.

So how can you contribute?

Firstly, you can help us protect the endangered birds in Nova Scotia. Ask the Visitor Centre about ways that you can volunteer.

Also, help us keep track of rare birds! If you see one, call the Rare Species Hotline at 1-866-727-3447 or email sightings@speciesatrisk.ca.

You can also submit bird-themed photos, scanned drawings, poetry, stories, or whatever else your creative heart desires to the Friends of Keji.
See their homepage for contact information.
